Crossed the Yamaha booth last Intermot show in Cologne last year (article found here). D’elight or at MBK Flipper, who at the time had not yet European surname, we had arrested for his neo-retro style with South Asian accents. Template ultra compact, rounded, neat (without being exceptional non-plus) manufacturing, we appeared to be very attractive but also very accessible due to its low seat height. Today, Yamaha and MBK we officially present by sending all its specifications and announced its availability as its price: It will install concession in August and will be exchanged against the sum of € 1,999 .

Small Mono-Performance 114 Cm3

Light (the weight is comparable to that of 50 cm3 of the market), with thin 12-inch wheels and a driving position more conventional, the grip of Yamaha D’elight or MBK Flipper should be obvious. Maneuverability and agility should also be part of the strengths of this entry level scooter. But more interestingly, we clarify its press release, is its engine.

On paper, the 4T cylinder 114 cm3 develops only 7.2 horses (ponies!). However, as this is a short-stroke engine (bore with its values and torque on the characteristic of “oversquare”), it would provide an interesting torque at low and midrange, the phases used in most urban areas. Yamaha even mention that he would have “hard acceleration”.

With (among others) the new Yamaha intake injection system, called YMJET-FI (Yamaha Mixture Jet-Fuel Injection) fuel requirements of neo-retro would be minimal (and discharges emissions to match). Hence the fact that the small tank 4,4 l is sufficient. It will be his actual consumption?

What can we expect in terms of autonomy and dynamic behavior? After a full trial, which is expected to arrive soon, Scooter-Station is sure to answer all these questions. Stay tuned!
