Design
Atlantic 300 S maintains the same highly acclaimed space and comfort for both rider and passenger, excellent wind protection, generous load carrying capacity, ergonomics and outstanding safety of the rest of the Atlantic family: everything about the Atlantic has been conceived to offer superior levels of comfort, while retaining Aprilia’s hallmark simplicity and ease of use.
The saddle has been completely redesigned for improved ergonomics and comfort and features integrated lumbar support.
The capacious helmet compartment is lined and illuminated, and offers incredible load carrying capacity as well as a practical power outlet for charging your mobile phone. There is also a lockable oddments storage compartment behind the leg shield. For added luggage space, an optional 47 litre rear top box can be installed on the standard luggage rack.
To emphasise the quality of the vehicle, the surface finish of the plastic bodywork elements has been revised, as have the graphics of the instruments, for improved legibility, and the colour of the windscreen.

THE ENGINE
With superior agility and performance, this scooter is unrivalled in the urban jungle. With class-beating space, comfort and protection, and the performance offered by an ultra-modern 300 cc engine, the Atlantic is perfect even for extraurban commuting.
Universally recognised as one of the best scooter engines on the market, this four-stroke, liquid-cooled single cylinder 300 cc powerplant, with single overhead camshaft and four valves has a power output of 22.4 HP and, most importantly, delivers outstanding torque (23.8 Nm at just 5,750 rpm), for superb flexibility and excellent low-end acceleration.
Chassis
The suspension, brakes and the sturdy frame are more than up to the job of handling the power of the modern 300 cc engine.
Perfect weight distribution make incredible levels rideability and agility possible, while still guaranteeing superb stability. Atlantic 300 S is a genuine joy to ride; true to Aprilia tradition, this is not just a means of transport but a scooter that rewards the rider with a real sense of connection and fun.
The superimposed closed double cradle frame in high tensile steel tubing is designed to offer superior torsional stiffness and strength, ensuring excellent stability even at higher speeds.
The telescopic hydraulic front fork with 35 mm diameter stanchions ensures superb steering precision and, with a generous 105 mm of wheel travel, has an excellent capacity for absorbing bumps.
Also contributing to the impeccable road manners of the Atlantic 300 S are the 13 inch wheels shod with wide section tubeless tyres (110/90 at the front and 130/70 at the rear).
Together with the chassis layout, this wheel and tyre combination makes the scooter exceptionally easy to ride, even for less experienced users. The generous size of the tyres also assists the suspension significantly in absorbing bumps as well as ensuring maximum braking safety.
And braking power is one of the areas in which the Atlantic 300 S excels most. Its integral brake system ensures powerful, safe and easy to handle braking force in all road conditions. The Atlantic 300 S boasts two large diameter discs: a 240 mm disc at the front, with floating calliper with three parallel pistons, and a 190 mm disc at the rear.
The basic principle behind an integral brake system is simple. Pulling the left hand lever (rear brake) operates both the rear disc and one of the three pistons of the front calliper. A retarder valve optimises brake force distribution, distributing the braking effect between the front and rear wheels to maximise deceleration while making the vehicle easy to control even for a less experienced rider.
This system significantly reduces braking distances while offering a substantially greater sense of safety and control compared with a conventional brake system.
