With the Yamaha XJ6 wants to connect to the successful XJ600 Diversion. In the middle class, the Yamaha FZ6 Fazer many buyers was too designed for sportiness, so the 2009 Yamaha XJ6 docile brought to market. The performance is typical for this class insurance at cheap 78 hp.

In Germany, the XJ6 Diversion F is available only with motorcycle ABS since 2010. Prior to the ABS was like the other two versions also now aufpreispflichtig.1

The engine of the XJ6 is originally from the Yamaha FZ6 Fazer. Until the stroke ratio of any substantial component was changed or newly constructed. Only the valve lift on the cam shaft has been changed.

Cylinder head, crankshaft, intake and exhaust system, and also included the coupling circuit were adjusted. The injection system was new software and sensitive sensors. The muffler is completely new and is located under the engine, which ensures a low center of gravity.

The old XJ600 was built in the classical double-tube frame principle. This is convenient and visually makes a solid impression. Unfortunately, this still frame construction proved to be problematic, therefore the old XJ600 – made for some difficulties in certain situations – in connection with the dainty little fork.

Since the XJ6 followed the principle of a favorable motorcycle had to be correspondingly low, the frame structure. A high quality aluminum bridge frame was therefore excluded.

With the XJ6, a new generation of frame construction was developed. The principle of a high bridge frame was taken, and the structure made of steel pipes. But the real highlight is the use of double-bolted metal plates as a stabilizing element in the whole structure, and the motor is used as such. this is: a) very cheap and b) thus provides an extremely slender structure (frame).

The frame of the XJ6 has, as a result of a stable, rigid structure which, forced moderately positive effect on the driving behavior.
