2006 Polaris Youth ATVs

Sportsman 90, Predator 90 and Predator 50 Are Safe, Fun, and Easy to Use

Polaris youth ATVs are the best selling line of youth vehicles for young and beginner riders. The youth line includes the Sportsman 90, Predator 90 and Predator 50. Because all of these ATVs include popular features found on full-size Polaris ATVs, they are safe, easy to use and fun to ride.

New for 2006, the Predator 90 and Sportsman 90 include daytime running lights to make the ATVs more visible to others. Continuing in all 2006 Polaris youth models are the features that make these the best-selling youth ATVs, including electric start, automatic transmission and reverse.

Polaris youth ATVs provide parents and guardians with controls that allow them to monitor how and when the vehicles are used. The parental and safety controls include an engine-stop tether cord, removable ignition key and electronic throttle safety control. Mechanical and electronic speed controls enable adults to set a maximum speed control limit.

Other safety features include the new daytime running lights, plus full floorboards and heat shields to protect young riders. Polaris Youth ATVs purchased from an authorized dealer come with a high-visibility whip flag, DOT-approved helmet, speed limiter and safety video. In the U.S. dealers provide safety training for parents and rider with every purchase.

Sportsman 90 and Predator 90

The Sportsman 90 and Predator 90 are for riders 12-years and older. These two models have five inches of rear suspension travel and a soft suspension calibration for a smooth ride. The front-end geometry of these models delivers a tighter turning radius than other youth models.

An electric start interlock requires the brake to be engaged for the engine to start.

New last year, the Sportsman 90 and Predator 90 got quieter, with a redesigned silencer, and delivered better throttle response and low-RPM power for better, more consistent overall riding. In addition, each has a filter in the cooling fan duct to prevent debris from clogging the cool air intake.

The Sportsman 90 looks like the full-sized Sportsman models with a cosmetic headlight pod, front and rear racks, front bumper and fender flares, and now comes in two standard colors — Sportsman Green and Red.

The Predator 90 looks like a full-size Predator 500 with its styled bodywork and cool graphics.
