Custom Moto Guzzi V35 Black Boot by Marco Matteucci
I’ve always known that certain people just have a knack for something. Having very little (if any) experience, they can just do, what they think is right and get unbelievably great results. To prove that, I present you this Marco Matteucci’s custom Moto Guzzi and tell the story how he came up with this the idea of becoming a bike builder.
While others are hesitating to change even a small detail about their motorcycles, Marco, who had never hold a spanner in his hand and hadn’t even changed oil once, bought this old Moto Gozzi V35 from 1982, stripped it down and for the first time in his life, performed a complete ground up rebuild that turned out, as you can see, more that great. As far as I’m concerned, not all things made for the first time has to be faulty. So, I’m sure this bike can be a great example and an inspiration for those who would like to give a bit of uniqueness to their own machines.
Marco lives in Italy. He is a graphic designer and photographer, who has been working in advertasing, but has always had a thing for motorcycles. So, when one day this golden opportunity to buy 4 Moto Guzzis came along giving him a chance to try out his other talents, Marco couldn’t resist it and soon the bikes were in his garage.
For starters, the bike was pulled apart for the purpose to achieve the final desing. Marco started with freshening up, cleaning and polishing 346cc engine. Then he completely reworked the wiring harness to fit redesigned lights, turnsignals and instrumentation.
Designer and photographer talents aslo weren’t wasted, as after planning and thinking everything through, Marco came up with this gorgeous combination of colors that perfectly suit the bike.
The textured matte black fuel tank with 2 brass eagles mounted on both sides, goes well with other black parts as well as with the brown grips, brake calipers and the leather strap that holds the battery. To match the brass eagles on the tank and give a little bit of contrast to the overall look, Marco mounted the seat, trimed with beautiful English leather. V35 Black Boot now rolls on Dunlop K82 tires and the bike is completed with clip-ons, that add a classic look to the style.
