There are a great number of fans of the NASCAR races and franchise movies like the “Fast and the Furious!” They give the audience watching these races thrills. Stock cars are not modified enough from the original make of the car.
Drag cars are also popular race cars that are not really meant for general use – as stock cars are used. Drag cars are only meant for racing. This is one of the key differences between a stock car and a race car. As well, drag cars have incredibly robust engines and lighter outer surfaces to make it go even faster.
The stock cars that were used for races back in the 1950’s were the normal family-owned cars that were modified slightly to enhance the speed and balance of the car.
In those days, the stock cars were used for the family during the week and raced during the weekends. Rope was used as the safety measure for seat-belts.
With the changing times and advancing of technology, today the stock cars that are used for racing are built with special consideration. It may look like a regular car from the outside but the systems and engines inside could be exactly like that of a drag car!
