The Kawasaki KLR650 – Still As Hot A Ride As Ever

If you’re a motorcylce buff then you know that the Kawasaki KLR650 is the most celebrated motorcycle made by Kawasaki to date. Even though it was introduced on to the market in 1987 and has remained unchanged in its design since, it is till proving to be as hot now as ever!

Some trivia for your bike junkies; the reason behind the name of this motorcycle is that it is a dual purpose motorcycle; it is intended for use on both paved as well as unpaved roads. The latest model of two thousand and eight broke the mould and when it was un-veiled it showed certain changes to the design compared to the normal Kawasaki KLR 650 models.

The motorbike has many features, outside of it’s cool design and speed, that makes it a better motorcycle to choose when you go to buy one. The first feature that sets it from the rest on the market is the fact that it is dual purpose, it also has another feature which adds to its design over other motorcycles in its class and this is that the bike is heavier than other off road bikes. Because of this the bike can be used on bad road conditions when it is driven by a skilled biker.

Typical measurements show the bike has thirty five horse power and its fuel economy is between forty five to sixty miles per US gallon. The bike also has additional space for extra luggage which makes it ideal for long trips away from home. The Kawasaki KLR 650 is used all over the world; in the Arctic, North and South America, Europe, Australia and Asia.

Kawasaki KLR 650 model also has had some extra bikes created that share its name. The KLR 650 A was introduced in nineteen eighty seven and this model can still be found in countries like Canada, USA and Europe. The KLR 650 B or Tengai was sold in the USA in nineteen ninety. The KLR 650 C showed a greater improvement in the dirt handling, brakes and tubular region guards, but it had over heating problems. The KLR 650 E was the model launched in two thousand and eight.

It had many different changes to this model compared to the standard Kawasaki 650. The main changes included brake calipers, upgraded cooling system and a dual beam headlight.

The Kawasaki KLR 650 is the preferred motorbike for those wanting to go away on long trips because of its easy handling of even and uneven roads. It also has extra space to carry extra luggage which is another reason why people choose it for their long distance trips. Over the two decades of the history of the Kawasaki Company they have made a good reliable and fashionable name for themselves.

Kawasaki fans claim that the KLR 650 maybe a simple motorcycle in its design but it is exceptionally stylish and very genuine in its performance and looks. For the rider it offers a decent comfortable bike that can handle the long haul, the power is adequate and easy to access when needed, the handle bars and controls are very much functional and easy to find which makes this is a bike perfect for roads which are uneven and dirty as well as road riding.
