Yamaha YZF-R125
The upcoming bike of Yamaha, YZF-R125 is the scaled down version of YZF-R1 coupled with some of the inspired features from its bigger brother YZF-R6. The bike is the best seller in UK in the sports bike category. Now it has successfully filled the gap in the range of 125cc sport motorcycle so that it can compete with its rivals such as Honda’s CBR125R and Aprilia RS125.
This bike is designed by the same engineers of R1 and R6 super bikes. The 2009 Yamaha YZF-R125 is charged with the race spirit and power. Worn in the seductive paint and colors enhanced by the rich graphics, it is definitely a cut above the rest in its categories with the aggressive look and styling cribbed from R1 and R6.
When Yamaha YZF-R125 is expected to launch in 2009, we will have to wait some more time only to see when it hits the Indian market.
Engine
Yamaha YZF-R 125 boasts of the all new liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, 4-valve, single cylinder, SOHC 124.66cc engine. Now it can generate more torque enhanced by the longer stroke. The free-revving, liquid-cooled 4-stroke engine is fuel injected for near-instant throttle response, while a 6-speed gearbox regulates the power ban.
This bike crawls at the slow pace if and when the clutch is engaged fully. And when the throttle is opened it shots for a smooth drive.
The New YZF-R125 comes with a rift of bewitching features several of which are digital dash, sophisticated brakes and well curved GP-style exhaust. As part of R-series, it comes with the advanced MotoGp technology and R-type engine and chassis features. The well crafted R6-inspired body is awe-inspiring and reaches the acme. It is very comfortable to ride on this unpretentious little machine.

Ride And Handling
The YZF-R125 is not the same bike as we can expect from other top end super bikes. It is as good as it is priced. The bike has a steel frame and a basic suspension, which are the welcome features compared to the price. The 33mm diameter front forks are designed to serve hassle free steering along with the high ride quality. It easily combats the bumps and lurches on rough city roads.
A lightweight Deltabox frame which connects to a cast aluminium swinging-arm ensures an excellent handling capability. R125 does not prove a flaw even for the tall riders as it provides a very comfortable riding position. Inheriting the unmatched style and attitude of R-series, the bike stands to hold the rein of bike buffs with the indicated top speed of 80mph.
