Honda CR 80 R2

Honda CR-V Extraordinary everyday

When it was first launched, the Honda CR-V made waves because it offered car-like driving abilities in the SUV sector for the first time and while many of its competitors have launched equivalent models, the carmaker has not sat back on its laurels. Instead, Honda has tried to make its CR-V different from everything else in the market. It goes without saying that because it’s a Honda the build quality is very high, and unlike many of its competitors the interior is not only comfortable but also very practical.

Off-road qualities of the Honda CR-V?

However, it should be noted though that like many SUV’s, this vehicle is not a proper off- roader as such but it still offers an impressive package. So while other SUV’s entered the fray, Honda pushed its offering upmarket and introduced a high spec, stuck in more accessories and made it even more comfortable. This makes the Honda CR-V a tad more expensive than most of its rivals and pitches it against cars like the Audi Q5.

The best choice in engines

People don’t buy SUV’s with the hope that they are economical to run but the Honda CRV has diesel engines in its range, particularly the 1.6 litre version which should return more than 60 mpg which is impressive for a car of this size. The 2.2 litre diesel engine also impresses with power and performance.

There’s plenty of room on board for five adults to be carried comfortably and the car is great to drive on long journeys, especially on motorways, with noise reduction and the suspension much better than many of its competitors. Basically, it’s a nice ride and even the bumpy roads are ironed out. There’s plenty of space in the Honda CR-V and the split full rear seats are useful, they also fall down flat very easily.

Some of its competitors offer seven seats but the Honda CR-V is an assured five seater.

Think of opting for this impressive SUV

It’s also a good buy for families with lots of cubby holes and storage space in the cabin and there’s lots of safety equipment installed for peace of mind. It comes as no surprise to learn that it scored five marks in the Euro NCAP crash tests. The SUV market is undoubtedly competitive and there’s a wide range of choice for buyers, anyone looking for a solid and reliable vehicle that will carry families or five adults in comfort as well as being practical should really consider the Honda CR-V for their needs; it will do just about everything they want and do it well.

Though it will do everything on road the Honda CR-V is also quite good on rough terrain but be warned that it’s more suited to bad weather conditions than having to plough through rivers and across fields. To help it stand out from the crowd, Honda has packed in lots of equipment including electric windows, alloy wheels and climate control as standard with some models also getting parking.
