Ossa TR250i

Full TRi range for 2014.

Now featuring 125, 250, 280 and 300cc models, the OSSA TRi range has evolved yet again for 2014, the culmination of three years extensive research, development and experience in global competition. With more updates than in any year since the revolutionary TR280i was first introduced, the new 2014 models are a key step in the evolution of the OSSA TRi concept.

Technically improved and expanded to meet the needs of a full range of riders, from the most demanding professional riders to the least experienced novice, every detail of the bike has been revised. The result is a more accurate, pleasant, efficient and robust response – everything under control, a feeling that the bike fits no matter what the riding style or experience.

ENGINE EVOLUTION AND EXPANSION

Improvements developed during competition by the OSSA racing team include crankshafts that now run on ball bearings to minimise vibration and reduce stress on the transmission, plus a crankcase that holds 100cc more gear oil (450cc) for improved reliability and less engine wear.

The 125cc has a completely new cylinder offering more torque across the whole rev range, especially at low and medium engine speeds. The 250cc cylinder has been developed from scratch by OSSA to achieve the best compromise of easily accessible, smooth power. The 300cc engine has a brand new cylinder to maximise power for the most experienced riders.

A new clutch spring and pressure plate configuration extends the working life of the disks whilst also creating a better feeling at the lever and a smoother operation. The gearbox has been reinforced with new gear and shaft designs to withstand the most demanding styles of professional riders.

In fact, the reliability and durability of the new engine was proven beyond doubt when an OSSA Explorer equipped with a 2014 TRi engine participated in, and survived, the 2013 Red Bull Romaniacs extreme endure!

LIGHT FRAME AND PRECISE HANDLING

Changes to the engine and frame make the bikes the lightest in each category, yet many components have also been redesigned to better withstand the aggressive riding and harsh conditions found at the highest levels of competition. All without sacrificing smooth response and usability – there’s even a new electronically controlled capacitor to now make engine starting extremely easy, plus a redesigned wiring loom that’s both simpler and more reliable.

New clutch and brake master cylinders improve feeling and control, whilst a stronger chain tensioner spring ensures a more constant tension. A revised frame, coupled with new suspension settings developed during competition, improves balance and handling, whilst a new rear suspension rocker arm and connecting rods with larger diameter shafts increase strength to withstand the most extreme conditions.

Finally, steering head seals have been replaced with larger ones that better prevent moisture from entering the bearing housings, and the entire assembly process of the bikes and finish of all parts has been revised for even higher quality.

ELEGANT PERFORMANCE AND STYLE

The OSSA TRi has always been distinguished by its unique colour schemes and sporty yet elegant lines. It’s a look that’s been further enhanced for 2014, all bikes featuring a fresh design composed of a white base plus powerful green highlights over a black frame.

So no matter your level, whether a novice just starting out or a high level rider demanding perfection, you’ll find the perfect bike within the 2014 TRi range. From the light and precise handling to the progressive but powerful delivery from the engine and, thanks to electronic fuel injection, incomparably linear and accurate throttle response, an OSSA TRi will fit your riding style as if it was designed for you.
