Raise the Dust – A Scrambler Adventure
Screenwriter Uli Brée, the mastermind behind the super-successful Tridays events in Austria, has spoken to Triumph’s Spirit Magazine about the video of his week-long biking journey across the Pyrenees, which has been making waves on YouTube.
After more than six months of planning, Uli lead a group of four Triumph Scrambler riders on the 1,300-kilometre (800-mile) trip in May.
“We rode from the Mediterranean Sea to the Atlantic Ocean along a rally route known as the Transpyrenäica,” he explained. “The route was almost entirely off-road, but the Scramblers made light work of the rough, difficult conditions.”
His group reads like a who’s who of biking royalty: Uli was joined by Wim Peters (general manager of Öhlins), Jens vom Brauck (founder of specialist bike modifiers JvB-moto), and Jochen Schmitz-Linkweiler (managing director of technical remodeling experts LSL), all riding their own individually adapted, custom Scramblers.
“The trip was documented by a camera crew, which filmed our every high and low on what was an amazing, unforgettable adventure.”
The Next 2013 Ride
More Information including 2013 Tour Information is available Here. They will be taking 10 people to share the experience with them.
“We do not want to become the next random tour operator. We only want to share our visions and dreams with someone. We don’t want to travel through war regions and risk our lives.
But on the other hand we also don’t want to travel through the Eifel with a reflective vest. We only want to ride our motorcycle with some awesome guys and experience something grand, which will demand us but not overexert us – at least not always.”
They do warn that this is a vintage style ride, with vintage style clothing and helmets only. Saying “ But we only travel with modern classics, jet helmets and what else belongs to this style. Who feels discriminated in this case, should he do so,can complain in different blogs and stay at home.”
There is also a nice write up from Uli Brée describing his adventure here .
2012 Triumph Scambles with aftermarket Ohlins suspension were used in the film.
