Suzuki Prices Inazuma 250 below Honda CBR250R in UK

Suzuki Motor Corporation of Japan has launched its 250 cc parallel twin cylinder motorcycle Inazuma 250 (GW 250) in United Kingdom with an outstanding on road price of £3 ,499 (Rs. 3 lakhs approx.).  At the price of £3 ,499 it is cheaper by £500 (Rs.

43,000 approx.) than Honda CBR 250R and £1100 (Rs. 94,000 approx.) than Kawasaki Ninja 250R in UK. Besides this, the company claims 30 km/liter mileage (WMTC mode) which is higher than Honda CBR 250R 27km/liter (WMTC mode).

Inazuma 250 comes with liquid cooled, SOHC, twin cylinder, fuel injected, 250cc engine which generates maximum power of 26bhp @ 8,500 rpm and maximum torque of 24.2 Nm@ 7,000 rpm. It has six speed transmission optimized for low to mid range speeds suitable for city traffic and highway cruising.  It comes with Suzuki Dual Throttle Valve (SDTV) system for better throttle response and combustion efficiency.

It also has Suzuki Exhaust Tuning (SET) servo-controlled butterfly valve which enhances low to mid range torque.

The frame of Inazuma has been designed carefully to combine advantages of tubular street motorcycle frame and twin spar sports motorcycle frame. It has dual disc brakes. The front has fully floating 310 mm disc with dual piston calipers while the rear has 240 mm disc with single piston caliper.  The front suspension uses Telescopic front forks while the rear suspension comes with link type monoshock suspension with 7 way adjustable spring preload.

 The front comes with 110/80 *17 inch tyre while the rear comes with 140/70*17 inch tyre.


The styling looks like front biased street fighter naked motorcycle inspired from the B-King.  The front headlight looks like broader headlight of Yamaha Libero, it comes with dual filament halogen bulb and integrated dual position lights with patterned blue lenses.  The rear tail lights look sober.

The side lights are incorporated within tank scoops which looks unique. The tank shape is designed to offer adequate knee recess to rider. It has sporty riding seating position.

It has very functional instrument panel which comes with analog tachometer and a large digital LCD display which shows gear position, coolant temperature, odometer, trip meter, fuel consumption meter clock and a 3 mode rpm indicator to have better fuel efficiency and power for individual riding style.  The fit and finish quality is top class. Suzuki also offers 2 year warranty and one year road side assistance which is included in above price.

Currently its available in two colors Black and Candy Cardinal Red. The motorcycle will hit the showroom in September.

The pricing of this motorcycle speaks a lot. It seems that Suzuki also has plans to launch this motorcycle in India positioning against Honda CBR250R. It will come at a price discount of Rs. 10,000-20,000 compared to Honda CBR250R.

It does not have front fairing but it will come with twin cylinder engine which Honda CBR 250R does not have. Let’s wait for this motorcycle to be launched in India.
