2006 Harley-Davidson Electra Glide Ultra Classic

Intro

True to its name, the 2006 Harley-Davidson Electra Glide is one smooth-riding machine. Accentuated by its plush touring saddle, roomy floorboards, air-adjustable suspension, and vibration-isolated engine, the Harley-Davidson Electra Glide is easily one of the most comfortable bikes youll ever have the pleasure of riding.

The 2006 Harley-Davidson Electra Glides powerplant is a robust 1450cc, air-cooled, Twin-Cam 88 engine. The engines pushrod-operated overhead valves with hydraulic self-adjusting lifters ensure optimum performance every time you venture out onto the roadways, and the optional Electronic Sequential Port Fuel Injection (ESPFI) system delivers an immediate and satisfying response from the bikes belt-driven rear wheel. The two components work seamlessly together to provide a luxurious ride thats never short on power.

Transmission on the 2006 Electra Glide is a five-speed, nine-plate wet clutch with a final belt drive ratio of 32/70. The bikes suspension consists of air-adjustable 41.3mm triple circuit damping (TCD) front forks with 4.6 inches of travel, and an air-adjustable steel twin-sided swing arm shock with 3.0 inches of travel on the back.

Designed as the ultimate entry level tourer, the 2006 Electra Glide comes with roomy GTX hardcase saddlebags, and Harley-Davidsons trademark bat-wing fork-mounted touring fairing with full instrumentation. This means that it not only offers the generous storage capacity required of a tourer, but it also looks the part, as well.

In fact, everything about the 2006 Harley-Davidson Electra Glide places it in the upper hierarchy of touring cycles. From its cruise control-ready convenience, to its four-piston front and rear triple-disc brakes, this bike allows drivers and their passengers to enjoy their ride without worrying about the details. Theres also an in-dash glove box, a pre-wired stereo antenna, and so much more.

The Electra Glide Classic even has a convenient onboard 50 amp/650 watt charging system included.

The 2006 Harley-Davidson Electra Glide has a five gallon fuel tank that is more than enough to provide a day of fuel stop-free riding, thanks to the bikes excellent fuel economy, which varies depending on the model. If your Electra Glide is carbureted, then you can expect a reported 37 miles to the gallon in the city, and 46 mpg on the highway. Or, if you choose one with ESPFI, then you can expect slightly better performance in the city, with a reported 39 miles to the gallon.

The reported highway mpg remains the same between the two.

The 2006 Harley-Davidson Electra Glide is available in three sub-models – the Standard, the Classic, and the Ultra Classic. The primary differences between the three bikes are the included additional rear-mounted hardcase luggage bags, and the additional color options with the Classic, and Ultra Classic models. And as if that isnt enough, the infinite number of customizable options and accents offered by Harley-Davidson allows you to transform your Electra Glide into one that fits your life, and sense of style.
