Bajaj KTM Duke 200 has finally been launched in India. Duke 200 is launched with an introductory price of Rs 1.17 lacs (ex-showroom, New Delhi) in the Indian motorcycle market. Bajaj will manufacture KTM 200 Duke at their facility in Chakan near Pune, where the Duke 125 is also being manufactured but for the sole purpose of exporting.

KTM is an Austrian motorcycle manufacturing company in which Bajaj Auto has 39% stake.

Mr Stefan Pierer, CEO, KTM said, “We aim to sell 25,000-30,000 motorcycles in India this year and 200,000 motorcycles globally a year in 2015.” Bajaj KTM 200 Duke is powered by a 200 cc engine which generates a maximum power of 25 bhp and a maximum torque of 19 Nm. Transmission is taken care by a 6 speed gearbox. Bajaj has started accepted bookings for KTM Duke 200 at their Probiking outlets across the country from today itself.

Bajaj Auto has 32 Probiking outlets in the country as of now, which they plan on increasing to 50 by yearend. Bajaj KTM Duke 200 is also launched in Nepal.

Speaking about the Probiking outlet experience, Mr Rajiv Bajaj, MD, Bajaj Auto, said, “We expect this initiative to bring enormous energy into our system. Customers who visit our showrooms will hopefully be impressed with what they see and overall sentiment will be lifted in the process.”

Now that the launch of KTM 200 Duke is taken care of in style by Bajaj Auto, we shift our focus towards the all new Pulsar range of motorcycles which are to be launched later this month in Mumbai. “I am confident that the new Pulsar will be the most stunning sports bike in the world. It is also my belief that as much as DTS-i took the market by storm, the new technology in the Pulsar will shake up the market this decade,” Mr Bajaj added.

Bajaj will be renaming their Probiking outlets as KTM showrooms in the future. All KTM products will be serviced at Probiking outlets. Bajaj Probiking will now be taking care of both, Kawasaki Ninja and KTM.

Bajaj Auto has managed to localize KTM 200 Duke by 95% which will keep the price of spare parts in check.
