The race for electric cars is now bringing in a new competitor: Ferrari. So, watch out Tesla as it is said that this vehicle will be more advanced than its predecessors.

Sergio Marchione, the SEO confirmed this news three weeks ago. He stated at the North American International Auto Show that whatever Elon Musk has done to high-end electric cars, it can be done to other cars in the industry.

This is interesting since Ferrari has had hybrid technology for years. When asked, Marchione stated that a fully electronic Ferrari would be an "almost obscene project". But even today, some Ferrari fans agree with those words.  They feel it is not a real Ferrari without the sound of the internal combustion engine, which would be replaced by the sound of nothing.

In August 2011, Macchione said, "You will never see a Ferrari electric because I don't believe in electric cars because I don't think they represent an important step forward for pollution or CO2 or the environment. But, we are working very, very hard on the hybrid Ferrari. This should be the future, and I hope in a couple of years you can see it."

Ferrari fans seem to agree that his will look like a Ferrari, but it will not be one.

The high-end electric car from Ferrari will keep all the comfort of the cabin. Given that we still don´t have an electric Ferrari just yet, it is hard to provide an opinion.

The lesson we learn from all of this is that super companies are all jumping onto the electric train putting their own powertrains on the track.

A limited edition of Ferrari hybrids was released in 2014.  Back then, Marchioni vowed to make all Ferrari hybrid models electric by 2020.
