Harley-Davidson FX Super Glide

Gutsy, Low, and Basic, the 2009 Harley Davidson Super Glide is All You Need, Nothing You Don’t

The 2009 Harley Davidson Super Glide is hardly a novice’s motorcycle. Boasting Harley’s 1,584cc V-twin powerhouse on rubber mounts; the 2009 Harley Davidson Super Glide has all the power of a heavyweight cruiser, all the style, while still offering middleweight-esque handling and maneuverability.

The solo seat on the 2009 Harley Davidson Super Glide doesn’t exactly invite long, romantic rides through the park with the wife, but at the same time, who’s to say that the 2009 Harley Davidson Super Glide wouldn’t be the perfect step-up mount for her when she gets bored with that old 883? Again, a bike this size is no beginner’s scoot, but for size, pricing, and cool factor, might just be the perfect mount for the slightly more seasoned rider. Picture it, ladies!

His and hers Dyna Super Glides – no they aren’t available in pink – but this bike is perhaps the perfect size for most any rider. The 27.6 inch seat height makes flat-footing the 2009 Harley Davidson Super Glide a breeze at stoplights, and a profusion of custom parts make personalization just as easy. The overall length is just a hair under 93 inches, as well, affording a laid-out stance while again, not being overwhelming.

Powered by Harley’s Air-cooled Twin Cam 96 engine, the 2009 Harley Davidson Super Glide packs plenty of punch, offering a meaty 92 lb/ft of torque at just 3,000 RPM. Fuel economy is excellent for a heavy weight cruiser thanks to a six-speed transmission and Harley’s Electronic sequential port fuel injection. Highway fuel economy is a respectable 54 miles per gallon, while city driving will net you just 35 miles per gallon.

The braking for the 2009 Harley Davidson Super Glide is handled by four-piston front calipers on disc brakes, while the rear is handled by a two-piston torque free floater. ABS brakes are not available for the 2009 Harley Davidson Super Glide, given owner’s proclivity to chop them up for sweet-looking customs anyway, and the fact that ABS units would likely not make it onto the reinvisioned Super Glide anyway.

You’ll find the gauges on the handlebars of the 2009 Harley Davidson Super Glide, offering with the electronic speedometer an odometer, clock, dual trip meters, fuel gauge with low fuel warning light and countdown feature, low oil pressure indicator light, and engine diagnostic readout. LED indicator lights are joined by a Six-speed transmission indicator light, high beam indicator, turn signals, and optional security system.

So, what are your plans for the 2009 Harley Davidson Super Glide? Step-up bikes for you and your favorite riding partner? All-out custom with wicked graphics and paint?
